lyrics
Lyrics:
Tonight, is the night we have been waiting for.
All the creatures of the woods.
Gathering to sing and drink and waltz!
Plague, baring rats brought a surprise.
Finest beer from long ago.
Now they drink like there is no tomorrow!
Tonight, on this banquet, humans on the menu.
A lovely scent of flesh fills the air.
Even the grass eater, eats their fair share.
Nothing tastes better, than sweet revenge.
The old snail spoke up, I am old and grey.
I still remember the tales, my mother sang to me.
Of a time long ago when we were skinned alive by hands of men.
Living in fear each day.
For the approaching judgment day.
Stuck in trap, then locked in a cage with no way to move.
Until the end, of our days.
Blocking the sun, soaring through the land.
The Swanrider appear freeing animals of their fear.
The fire-breathing swan laid Villages to waste.
And the child who escaped got a beak trough his head.
Fly mighty swan, fly to the sky!
Fly Higher than no swan has ever flown before!
They gathered your kin and broke their necks
Unleash your rage, let the fire reign.
A snail looked up at his mother’s face.
Are the old snails’ stories true? Yes my son, it's horrible but true.
But why, have the humans not fought back?
Not even once past hundred years? I don't know but they sure taste great!
The old snail knew the truth, locked away in his chest.
Inside it was a book, the unholy Snailonomicon.
Trapped inside was a human, their champion and hero.
The snail would never let, the book fall into wrong hands.
But he was old and senile and forgot to locked the chest.
The fat pig saw his chance. to bring the book to human lands.
For a bounty of truffles, he would betray all his friends.
He took the book from the chest, Sneaking fast on fatty feet.
Disappearing into the woods, without a single oinky oink.
Once again will they Swanrider have to step down from throne.
To defend his lands!
In human lands, by warlocks’ hands.
The enchantments were broken, the sacred words spoken.
Out of the book, with a reaping hook.
The human hero arose, to revenge compose.
Fly mighty swan, fly to the sky!
Fly Higher than no swan has ever flown before!
They gathered your kin and broke their necks.
Unleash your rage, let the fire reign.
From Sweden in a cabin surrounded by dark woods and badgers, wild fearsome badgers, all of SnailMageddons creations comes to
life. If you stand there late at night you can sometimes hear a haunted whispering spreading throughout the forest like mist, "The end has come, the SnailMageddon has begun"....more

The first 30 seconds of "Revenge by Fire" convinced me to get the whole album! It is a face-melting blend of speed and black metal, reminiscent of Hellripper! KVAEN is a Swedish solo project much like Hellripper but many known guest musicians helped J. Björnfot in his endeavor. Altogether it is really a solid debut album, I loved the melodies and the pace changes in the second half too, ending with a "calm" instrumental one. Well-done!! sachavonkarl74

A Pagan black metal masterpiece.
Folk and black metal elements fuse into one extremely catchy and awe inspiring album. This band does not disappoint from all the high praise sent it's way. Abyssius Murkraken
Joseph Hawker subverts the musical and sociopolitical status quo with a black metal triptych that's as incendiary as it is impressionistic. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 5, 2022

NONE a opéré un virage dans Where Life Should Be et ça se confirme davantage dans Damp Chill of Life. Insoutenable... Jordan Vauvert
